Jeremy Crook OBE, Director of BTEG and Chair of Business, Innovations and Skills Equality Advisory Group says:

Ethnic minorities make up significant parts of many major towns and cities across the UK but as a country we need to focus on nurturing the entrepreneurial talent in those communities. Colleges, universities and LEPs should lead the way by fostering a more progressive entrepreneurship culture.”

BTEG and Inclusion are bringing individuals and organisations supporting entrepreneurship together to explore ways of spreading best practise and identifying the best ways of developing new approaches to stimulate entrepreneurship amongst ethnic minority communities (especially young people and women) in disadvantaged urban areas.

The aims of the Conference are to:

  • Bring together policy makers and organisations with an interest in growing entrepreneurship in ethnic minority communities
  • Identify what different stakeholders can do to spread entrepreneurship in ethnic minority communities
  • Share best practice
  • Make suggestions for a policy framework for the next five years
